I’m Laura, from Quietly Loud

I’m a freelance copywriter, writing words for small businesses and large organisations.

Choosing the right copywriter isn’t about fancy accolades or who shouts the loudest. It’s about common purpose and values, and finding the spark that draws you together.

Experienced copywriter and cow milker for hire

My journalism degree taught me that everyone has a story. You just need to look hard enough.

After university, I travelled the world. Cooking for gold miners and milking cows were some of the useful skills I picked up before turning to copywriting.

In 2010, I worked in a hectic marketing team at a national charity. I juggled diverse marketing campaigns and website copywriting, produced stacks of media coverage, and did what I loved best—writing.

I sometimes blow my own trumpet

My campaigns won PR Week and CIM (Chartered Institute Of Marketing) awards, and my news regularly featured in leading news outlets such as The Guardian, The BBC and respected industry publications.

Behind the scenes

My two young children keep me busy.

When I’m not working I enjoy reading proper books, Sunday papers, music, cooking (I have over 100 food books), and visiting new places.

Cheshire copywriter and owner of Quietly Loud: Laura Beckett

Why Quietly Loud?

I’ll never be the loudest person in the room, but I’m naturally inquisitive and ask lots of questions to get the best results. I write without fanfare and fuss, simply giving you words you’ll love.

I love learning about your business and its history. The whys and hows. Unearthing those gold nugget stories to entice customers.

My copywriting services start from £300 for a single web page. I prefer working to an agreed project rate, rather than an hourly or day rate to help you keep track of your budget.
